Monday: I started the day at our West Hollywood shop. I did a Le Cute Show with Greta to chat about the launch of the Clare V. x Schoolhouse collaboration.
That day, the Domino feature on my L.A. house also went live.
Tuesday: My friend, Rajni Jacques, the director of fashion for Snapchat, asked me to be on a panel for their Partner Summit at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. Raj, Jerome Lamaar, and I chatted about the business of fashion and the role social media has in brands these days. After that, I took advantage of being on the Westside by visiting our cute Montana Street shop. Then I went to a women’s business class at a private residence in the Palisades.
Wednesday: We’re moving our warehouse to a bigger location in Glendale soon. Before we moved all the racks, finished goods and materials into the space, we took advantage of having a large empty building by having an “all hands” meeting in there.
All of our store managers were in town for our annual manager’s conference, and to have them work the sample sale, so later in the day Molly (our President) and I went to meet with them to talk about all things store-related. It’s so good to get to have in-person time with some of these managers we don’t get to see very often. In the evening we all went to Loreto, a delicious restaurant in Frogtown.
Thursday: The New York Times piece by Aileen Kwun, was printed in the style section. It’s always great to get good press, but the NYT is like hitting the lotto. It is always a very very exciting moment. Look at my little living room on the pages of the NYTimes, and did she also say our sample sale was “an event on the level of the Superblowl”?! Heck yeah! For most of us, it is more exciting than that famous game with the all those commercial breaks.
This was also Sample Sale set up day! Friends and family were in town to help including my sister Ann and her daughter Frannie (pictured below with her sister Sophie and me.) Mental note: investigate Botox.
Friday: Here we go. First day of Sample Sale. We are told the first people in line got there at 2AM!! By the time I arrived at 7:30AM the line had already snaked down and around The Row and into the far parking lot. As soon as we opened the doors, a couple of us went out to say hi, and to thank people for coming and waiting in line. Honestly, I got teary eyed just seeing all these amazing people stand in line for Clare V. A pinch me moment. We built this! I just wish my mom was around to see it.
We rewarded ourselves with a delicious dinner at Pizzeria Bianco that night. :)
Saturday: We stopped by the Sample Sale one last time and then went dress shopping for niece Sophie’s wedding! SO fun, but also hard because she looks gorgeous in EVERY dress she tries on, so it’s hard to choose one.

Saturday night, we had a big dinner with family at our house with my cousin Nikki, who owns Hot Mama Salsa, cooking a big Mexican feast. Mine and Nikki’s dads were brothers ( I say were because my dad has passed away). Manuel and Peter Guerrero. They were two of nine kids born to their parents Frances and Nick Guerrero. The thing my father would be most proud of is that they were successful in passing along our love of family. And treating friends as family. All are welcome at our gatherings.
Nooo you're lovely as is (no Botox needed!) x
Love when you write about your family. <3
