TUESDAY
Jour: Every Tuesday morning we have a standing 9am call regarding the renovation of our house in France, with our friend and design consultant Kate Berry. We’re making a trip to our house in the Loire Valley in a few weeks. Cute BTS house content coming very soon.
Soir: A group of CV girls, friends, and I went to the Hollywood Bowl for Seth Rogan’s Hilarity for Charity night benefitting the families & caretakers affected by Alzheimer’s. We made some product to sell which will benefit the organization - a tee and baseball hat. Bon Souvenirs means Good Memories.
I’ve always said that the Hollywood Bowl is one of the best things about L.A. So if you live here and have never been - GO. It was such a fun night.
WEDNESDAY
Jour: Our development team presented materials for Fall 25. Rumer Willis and her adorable baby, Lou, came to visit our studio and warehouse. I had never met her but she was so lovely. She’s starting a new company called Rumer Has It. She was wearing the cutest outfit - a golden floral silk slip dress from Doen, with orange Meduse Sun Jellies she bought at Clare V. She fell in love with our Maman Je T’aime tee for Every Mother Counts, it made me want to buy the whole outfit.
Soir: Crossed town to the Palisades to my friend Marlien Rentmeester’s house to meet a bunch of Substacking (and Substack curious) women. Marlien, Molly Sims, and Meg Strachan hosted the gathering to discuss all things great about THIS! Also a great Vogue Business article regarding the Substack frenzy.
THURSDAY
Jour: 5am pick up to fly to NYC. My lucky day - got bumped to business class. Thank you Delta. Travelled with Molly, our President, and Meaghan, our VP of PR.
Soir: Molly and I walked from our hotel to Il Buco on Bond St. On the way we ran into Meleana (author of Lei Aloha) and Noria (an old friend, previously with Target partnerships). Nothing like NY on a spring evening bumping into friends. We ate delicious pasta outside at the tables set up on the cobblestone street.
FRIDAY
Jour: Every Mother Counts annual MPower lunch. Not only were Christy Turlington Burns and co-host Kelly Corrigan amazing, but the featured speakers Michelle Browder and Dr. Milton Ochieng were incredibly inspiring.
Soir: Went to see Cole Escola’s play, Oh Mary at the Lucille Lortel Theater (for the second time!!) with Jordan and Katie. We walked home from the theater. I love walking at night in NY, rarely do I get to do that in LA.
SATURDAY
Jour: Visited the CV Nolita shop to see the fine jewelry on display for our Mother’s Day annual trunk show. I got a permanent gold chain bracelet with a tiny Capricorn charm from Kinn welded on my wrist, then went to the airport to fly home.
Soir: Came home to beautiful pink Mother’s Day flowers sent to me from Mother Denim. Had a delicious and cozy dinner at home with Thierry and my stepson Simon.
SUNDAY
Jour: Had a Mother’s Day massage with my favorite local Silverlake Masseuse Amy Flanzbaum.
Soir: Enjoyed dinner at home and cozy TV time with Thierry and the pups. We just finished Ripley - which was creepy but I loved. It made me want to go to Italy immediately.
MONDAY
Jour: Although there were no “highlights”, the day was packed with back-to-back meetings. I met with our production team on sweater factories, the executive leadership team met on goals, the design team met on styles for 2025, and Molly and I met on new warehouse spaces. The day went on and on and on. But I did like my outfit. So - there’s the highlight.
Soir: Exhaustion.
TUESDAY
Jour: We gathered everyone in the kitchen to celebrate Greta’s 12-year anniversary! Instead of cake we had cheese and crackers (and a few sips of wine, which we later regretted -- so tigh tigh!). Greta, who most of you know from Le Cute Show, has been a friend of mine for 30 years. She came to work at Clare V. in 2012 when I opened my first store in Silverlake. She’s now VP of Creative. ❤️ We love you Greta!
We often (unexpectedly) dress alike on work days, like this day where we wore different outfits but the same improbable color palette.
I loved this, Clare! What I would have given to be part of that Substack conversation with those incredible women. Can't wait to follow your house reno updates!
Love this. What a fun idea!
