A little look at my week (April 5th - April 13th)—something about my days and something about my nights. This week featured an event at our new pop-up Studio Shop in L.A., before heading to New York for press week.
SATURDAY

Jour: The morning was consumed by laundry and packing for my trip to NY the next day. The way the day was shaping up, there would be no other time to do this before my flight in the morning. After that, I went to our studio and filmed video content for our Free Strap event weekend, then headed to our pop-up at 3032 Dolores Street (pictured above). With our Silverlake Flagship closed for renovation (reopening this summer), we opened this weekends-only Studio Shop to stay connected with our east side family. There is a lovely outdoor space so we had margs & music—DJ’d by my niece Sophie’s fiancé, Alex. (We’re having events here all summer—make sure you’re subscribed to Clare V. emails to hear about them.)
Soir: From the Studio Store event, I went straight to our old house for our last visit. We sold it to a young woman, and we left her a bottle of champagne and a note wishing her as much coziness as we had in the house for all those years. Our family of four met there to say goodbye to that sweet home and we toasted with champagne. A big chapter—closed. This is the last photo we took of the backyard. It is bittersweet. I am sad to be leaving this house, but I think I’m more excited to be living in our new house. We love it, we were ready for a change, and I feel fortunate that we were able to make the move on our own terms (given that many displaced Southern California people were not).
SUNDAY
Jour: Picked up for the airport at 7am.
Soir: Arrived in New York around 5pm and was at the hotel around 7pm. I was starving, so I ordered room service: a cheeseburger, salad, and a glass of wine. Then Greta came back to the hotel after her dinner and we watched the White Lotus season finale in my room. This season was not my favorite WL, but I did love it by the end. And I’d be down for a Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, and Michelle Monaghan spinoff.
MONDAY

Jour: Got ready to speak (early) at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I spoke to Emily Blumenthal’s class on entrepreneurship. I really enjoyed it and the students asked great questions. Many of them followed up with thank you emails as well, which I think is such a class act.

Soir: Had dinner at the new New York outpost of San Vicente Bungalows with the wonderful Kevin Harter, VP at Bloomingdales, and Shelby Meade, all-around marketing genius. It was a cold night, but we decided to walk back to the hotel anyway—and along the way we picked up some records from Village Revival Records. Our Nolita location (where we held our press events) has a record player, and our summer collection was inspired by music, so it felt like a no-brainer.

TUESDAY
Jour: 16 press appointments starting at 8am. We introduced editors to the next two seasons—sharing a first look at the collections & the inspiration behind them. Greta, Kate Berry, Katie Hatch, and I had a lunch of avocado tostadas, beans, rice, and corn esquites at Tacombi. Yum.

Soir: We went to Lincoln Center to see Ghosts, starring my friend Lily Rabe—it was amazing, she is amazing. This woman will have an Oscar (or a Tony) one day, mark my words. Greta, Katie (our CBO), and I ended the night with dinner at Il Buco, where we shared steak, salad, and an incredible rhubarb sorbet.
WEDNESDAY
Jour: Second day of press appointments. Greta and I filmed a mini Le Cute Show for the Fleurine, plus additional videos for our Free Strap weekend. Wrapped up at 4pm.
Soir: Ran back to the hotel to change before our 7:00 pm dinner. Rajni Jacques co-hosted a dinner with me at the restaurant Le Veau d’Or for our Spring collection with about 24 people. The space was beautiful, the food was incredible, and the group of people was perfect—we all stayed late into the evening—we think, because the vibe was so good ;).

THURSDAY
Jour: Left for the airport at 10am. Delta upgraded me to Delta One, so I got to go to their new Delta One lounge at JFK. It is truly a rarified airport experience—huge, uncrowded, calm, it smells like a spa, and the food is next level. I had tomato bisque soup and “Lyonnaise” pizza, then had to try the lemon curd tart. On the plane home, I read Care and Feeding.
Way back in 1995, my friend and I started a short-lived email newsletter called “Unsubscribe”. The premise was to ask writers to write about their days—M-F of a week (a little like I’m doing now, we were the first Substack! Ha!)—and we would send out their daily journal to our subscribers. Laurie Woolever was one of our writers. I don’t remember much about her posts but I remember liking them, and she was very funny—and a stoner. I wish I could access those posts now, but those were with a long-ago email address, on very old computers… Anyway, we have not kept in touch—I haven’t spoken to her since then—but I’m loving her book. She was an assistant to Mario Batali and Anthony Bourdain, and was effectively a very big stoner (and an alcoholic, I learned in the book), but has very good stories to tell about those years working with iconic NY chefs.

Soir: Arrived home at 7pm. That night, while scrolling, I saw a vintage W Morris & Co floral sofa I loved on the MidCentury LA Instagram and immediately DM’d them to see if it was still available. I’ve always wanted a floral sofa, and W Morris has some of the best patterns—maybe this would be the one.
FRIDAY
Jour: A long day of (inspiring) work—working on our Summer 2026 collection. I had a small break in my meetings, so I high-tailed it to North Hollywood to check out the sofa. I loved it on site, so I asked to have it memo’d to the house to see if we liked it in our living room.
SATURDAY
Jour: The sofa arrived. Loooove it. Rearranged the whole house for it.
Soir: Played Mahjong from 4-8:30pm at my friend Naomi’s house—we’re hosting the next game night at mine (the first one at our new house). Then I went home and ended the night watching Jon Hamm’s show, Your Friends & Neighbors with Thierry.
SUNDAY
Jour: Went to the Rose Bowl Flea and came home with a bookcase, a trunk, and a small table.
Soir: Dinner at home with Thierry.
